Graphics
Graphics are the visual representation of objects such as computer, paper, ball, surface stone. This visual representation is needed to emphasize on better explanation on things related to the object. With the help of graphics we give a simple view of the elements which helps in illustration. For example- photographs are examples of graphics. Further more examples are graphs, line arts, numbers, symbols, typography, geometric design, maps, engineering drawings etc. Graphics can be functional or artistic. It can also contain text and color.
Graphs
Graphs are a type of information graphic that has a numeric value associated with it.
Diagrams
Diagrams are representation of concepts or ideas. It helps to visualize the relations.
Symbols
It is a quantity i.e. it represents an object. All concepts are symbolic in nature.
Geometric design
It comprises of stout design with measured angles and length. It represents the outer skeleton of an object.
Maps
This is a representation of an area and relation between objects and that area.
Engineering drawings This is a graphical design mainly a technical design.
Computer graphics
Computer graphics mainly is defined as graphics which are made by using computer with the help of various software. This is basically the manipulation of pictorial data by a computer.
There are two types of computer graphics:
One is raster graphics where pixel is separately defined, the other vector graphics where drawings are made using mathematical formulas.
Soon 3D graphics reached the popularity and were hugely used in animation and multimedia projects.
The image types of computer graphics are:
2D computer graphics
The normal 2D digital images when generated by the computer, it is the 2D computer graphics. 2D models are preferred because they have more control of images than 3D computer graphics. 2D computer graphics are largely used in applications like typography, printing and drawing. It represents a real world object.
Pixel art
A form of digital art. Primitive computers and videogames consist of pixel art.
Vector graphics
These are complimentary to raster graphics. Vector graphics result in sharp appearances and small files.
3D Computer graphics
3D computer graphics are contrasting with respect to 2D one. It gives 3D representation of the geometric data that is stored in computer memory. 3D computer graphics may also be termed 3D models and is contained within graphical data file.
Graphic design may consist of arrangements of typography or book without any other element. The main objective being the clarity and proper communication.
